KARACHI: Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said that a grand alliance was needed to get rid of the Zardari-Gilani government and to ensure fair, free and impartial elections under an independent Election Commission.

Talking to the media at Mansoora, he said that Zardari, Gilani and corruption were inseparable.

The JI Ameer welcomed the petitions filed by the PML-N and PTI against the ruling of the National Assembly Speaker in regard to the Supreme Court judgment and announced all out support on the issue.

However, he said this would not make any difference for the rulers who had been ignoring and even ridiculing the apex court judgments for the last four years. He said the judiciary had demonstrated extreme tolerance during these years but not a single one of its decisions had been implemented by the government.

Syed Munawar Hasan further said that the government would be presenting its fifth budget but the people were least interested as these budgets were anti-people.

He said since the economic policies of the country were being prepared by enemies of Pakistan including the IMF and the World Bank, no one could think of eradication of poverty or price hike.
