RAWALPINDI, Feb 3: Body of a young girl with deep wounds on her head was found stuffed in a sack which was lying near a mosque in Gulistan colony on Friday, police said.
The victim, who was later identified by police as Nazima Perveen, 22, had been missing since Thursday after she left her home for teaching the Holy Quran to children at their houses in the street.
“She gave lesson to one of her students but did not turn up at the houses of other two students,” Ashraf Butt, sub-inspector who is leading the investigation, revealed.
He further said Ms Nazima, whose father is a ward man at a hospital, left her house at 3pm but did not return home.
Police said there had been no complaint about missing of the young girl. As the girl’s parents arrived to lodge a complaint on Friday afternoon, the police was informed by some residents of the area that a girl’s body stuffed in a sack had been found. The victim turned out to be the missing girl.
The body was removed to DHQ hospital for postmortem.
