KARACHI: Ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital after he had difficulty in breathing, his son, Arif Hassan, said on Wednesday.

The 84-year-old singer, who has been suffering from lung problems for the past many years, was rushed to the hospital's ICU section on Tuesday night.

His son quoted doctors as saying that Mr Hassan was suffering from chest and urine infections.

"We have been feeding him through tube for the past two years. For the past one month, he has even lost his voice, which mesmerised millions of his fans."-PPI
