CHAGAI appears to be the most important region of Pakistan in several respects. Owing to the first nuclear test in May 1998, under Nawaz Sharif’s regime, Chagai earned a name.

Chagai is replete with natural resources at Saindak and Reko Diq. The estimated revenue of Saindak project is almost Rs65 million.

It is disappointing that Balochistan receives only two per cent of the revenue, which is an unbalanced distribution. Natural resources like gold, copper, iron, marble, high quality granite, precious and semi-precious stones are some of the treasures of this region.

Some uplift projects in the area include the establishment of Saindak Model School, the establishment of a 50-bed hospital and dispensary and portable water. Chagai plays a vital role for Pakistan. However, Balochistan should also benefit from the offerings.
