SIALKOT, Jan 13: The Punjab government has named the Sialkot Medical College after Khwaja Muhammad Safdar, the father of Khwaja Asif, a PML-N member of the National Assembly.

The authorities have completed all arrangements to start classes at the medical college from Jan 17. The principal and teachers have been appointed for the college established at the nursing hostel and emergency ward of the Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital, Sialkot. Besides Iqbal Hospital, Government Sardar Begum Memorial Hospital will be teaching hospital of the college. WORKSHOP:

Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (north zone), in cooperation with Smeda organised a training workshop on 'Productivity improvement through lean manufacturing' on Thursday.

Hosiery manufacturer Faisal Mehboob said such training workshops for Sialkot workers must be held in the city to enhance the professional capacity of workers.

He said production could be improved through efficiency and reducing defect rates, and handling the material through time and cost.

Instructor Haider Sagheer highlighted ways to improve in the existing production and quality system of Sialkot factories.
