PESHAWAR: Classes from grades six to eight in the government and private schools will resume on Wednesday (today) after more than six months closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Though decision about reopening educational institutions had been taken in early September, after detection of several coronavirus cases in the educational institutions rumours were circulating on the social media that schools may not reopen in the second phase.
In this connection, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday held a meeting with all the stakeholders at the provincial and federal levels, and allowed schools across the country to resume in-person classes from grades six to eight.
It is worth mentioning here that the primary schools will reopen on Sept 30 as per the NCOC decision.
The health department has so far detected 46 Covid-19 cases in 19 schools of the province since their reopening on Sept 15.
