KARACHI: A young man was found dead in a Gulshan-i-Maymar locality on Friday.

The officials said that the area people informed the local police about the body when a few of them spotted it lying near Ayub Shah Mazar.

The body was later taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors, after carrying out a post-mortem examination, stated that the man had been strangled to death.

“The victim is young and it seems that he was killed not more than six hours ago when the body was found,” said an official at the Gulshan-i-Maymar police station. “The body was taken to the Edhi morgue for want of identification after medico-legal formalities. We are also tracing family links of the victim.”
