LAHORE: Former Supreme Court judge Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, in his capacity as an independent adjudicator, will hear Umar Akmal’s appeal on June 11 against the three years ban imposed on the diminutive batsman for failing to report to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his two meetings with match-fixers before the start of the 5th Pakistan Super League (PSL) fifth edition last February.

The PCB announced that notices for the hearing had been issued both to the PCB and Umar. According to the PCB anti-corruption unit rules, every cricketer is bound to immediately report to the Board if any suspect/corrupt person makes any contact with the cricketer, offering money for corrupt practices like match- or spot-fixing.
