LANDI KOTAL: The district police chief removed at least 17 policemen from service and suspended another 50 on charges of corruption on Tuesday.

A statement issued from the office of DPO in Shah Kas Levies Centre Jamrud, said that Mohammad Iqbal took the action against the policemen after receipt of complaints against them, and removed and suspended the personnel in light of the instructions from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP Sanaullah Abbasi.

It said that action was taken against the police personnel posted on various checkposts in Jamrud and Landi Kotal for their involvement in corruption.

The statement said no black sheep would be tolerated in Khyber police force and any official having links with drug traffickers, corruption or any other illegal practice would be taken to task in accordance with the law.
