PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest recovery rate among patients of coronavirus, says Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Wazir.

He said that the province had 200 isolation wards for Covid-19 patients with the capacity of 5,598 beds. He said that 359 quarantine centres and more than 550 ventilators had been reserved for patients of the pandemic.

“Still citizens should follow the guidelines issued by the government as the only treatment for coronavirus is to take precautionary measures,” said Mr Wazir.

Responding to opposition’s criticism of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf led by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the way it handled the pandemic, the adviser said that Imran Khan was a leader and “there was clear a differences between a leader and a dealer”.

He said that the dealers looted the country with both hands.

Mr Wazir said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was “on the frontline, visiting hospitals and quarantine centres without caring for his life.”

He said that lives of the citizens were more important for them than their own lives.
