GUJAR KHAN: A man allegedly killed his stepmother and her four children near Bhadhar village in the jurisdiction of Mangla police on Tuesday.

Raja Khadim Hussain, a resident of Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, told Dina police that he was travelling from Mirpur to Jatlan village in his car driven by driver Farooq. His second wife Farzana Begum, children Raja Ibrahim, 11, Sana Raja, 12, Subhan, 3 and Shumaila, one-and-a-half years, were sitting in the rear seat.

According to Khadim Hussain, his son Nadir Hussain, who was chasing their vehicle in a rented car, intercepted them near Bhadhar village and shot dead his stepmother and step-siblings.

He said the alleged killer was accompanied by another man who he did not identify.

He told the police that Nadir was unhappy over his second marriage and used to warn him against giving a share in the property to his stepmother and her children.

According to SHO Mangla Mohammad Ameer, Khadim Hussain married Farzana about 15 years ago. His first wife is also alive and has four children, including Nadir Hussain. They all were living jointly.

Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ameer told Dawn that the police were investigating the case from all angles and would soon arrest the alleged killer.
