KARACHI: Clifton police on Friday claimed to have arrested a housemaid for allegedly kidnapping a 10-year-old girl, who had been abducted in Clifton and was recovered from Korangi.

The girl went missing in the Bath Island area on Feb 19 at night.

The parents had lodged an FIR (90/2020) under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code with the Boat Basin police.

Acting on a tip-off, a special police team conducted a raid at an apartment in Bath Island and detained one woman, Shama, a house servant.

On information provided by her, the kidnapped girl was recovered from Godown Chowrangi in Korangi, according to Clifton SP Zahida Parveen.

The held suspect claimed that she had not kidnapped the girl.
