SIALKOT: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says the government is foiling every conspiracy being hatched by a political group led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman to destabilise the country.

These politicians had already been rejected by the masses and still they were giving the so-called deadlines for the ouster of the government.

Speaking to journalists here on Saturday, she deplored that these politicians were hatching conspiracies against the country and democracy.

“The politicians led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman want Iqtidar (power),” she said. Their political agenda, she said, was nothing more than destabilising Pakistan.

She said the national economic indicators were showing healthy signs and the government was taking the economy towards takeoff.

“The institutions must take notice of anti-democratic activities,” she added.

She said the Information Commission was fully functional and it had received 350 applications out of which it had shortlisted 150 for further action.

She said the government sent Nawaz Sharif abroad for his medical treatment purely on humanitarian grounds. She said his medical reports were saying a different story.

The PML-N, she reiterated, was hatching anti-Pakistan conspiracies while staying in London.
