NOWSHERA: The Senate Standing Committee on Railways opposed on Tuesday import of locomotives form foreign countries under the CPEC without TVT agreement and demanded investigation into import of costly locomotives.

The Senate body members made the observation during a visit to the locomotives factory in Risalpure here. They included the committee chairman Asad Ali Janjua, JUI-F’s Maulana Attaur Rehaman, Mohammad Shafique Tareen, Mirza Mohammad Afridi, Mehmoodul Hassan and Johan Kenneth Williams.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Janjua demanded of the government to take solid steps for improving the capacity of the locomotives factories. He said the locomotives factories were facing shortage of manpower and asked the government to resolve all the problems of the existing workers.
