RAWALPINDI: Two sisters drowned in a mini-dam in Kalar Syedan on Sunday.

Police said the teenagers, Zainab and Javaria, were washing clothes at the bank of the Samot Dam when the younger sister Jawaria slipped into the water and drowned.

Zainab jumped into the water to rescue her sister but she also drowned.

With the help of the villagers, the relatives recovered the bodies which were later laid to rest.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified girl was recovered from a drain in Westridge on Sunday.

Police said the body of the 10-year-old was recovered from the drain located near Nala Karela Gate Transit.

The police have launched efforts to identify the deceased.
