ISLAMABAD: Police on Thursday booked two suspects on charging of attacking a police picket on Wednesday in which two policemen were killed and another injured, sources told Dawn.

The case was registered at Counterterrorism Force police station, they said, adding it was the first case registered with CTF police station since its creation.

Talking to Dawn senior police officers said that two separate teams started investigation under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police CTF and Superintendent of Police Investigation Wing over the incident.

The investigation is in early stages and police are collecting details of the incident and examining the crime spot and evidence, including bullet shells found from there.

Sketch of the attackers are being prepared with help of the policeman injured in the attack, the officers said, adding that separate teams have been constituted for investigation and collection of evidence.

Assistance also sought from the Safe City Projects and, the footages of its CCTVs installed in the surroundings of the crime scene and roads leading towards it, they added.
