DERA GHAZI KHAN: The irrigation department’s executive engineer dispatched on Monday a letter to the Choti Zaireen police station house officer to quash a water theft case against PML-N MPA Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari as it was mistakenly registered against the MPA instead of lease-holders who were cultivating the land at present.

Choti police had registered the water theft case against Leghari on the report of the irrigation department some days ago. A departmental inquiry conducted by the executive engineer canal revealed that at present the land owned by the mother of the MPA was in the possession of lease-holders.

In its letter to the Choti SHO, the EXEN said the case should be registered against Akram Gujjar and Ayoob Pathar instead of MPA Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari.
