LAHORE: The body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered from the swimming pool of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Sunday. Police took a security guard into custody and started investigation.

Sheraz of Gujjarpura and his friends had gone to take a dip in the UET swimming pool where he went missing two days ago. He was later found dead in the pool on Sunday morning and his body was shifted to morgue for autopsy.

Later, a police team took the security guard, identified as Naeem, into custody and started investigation.

Sheraz’s father Arshad told the media that his son had gone to swim in the pool two days ago and his body was handed over to him on Sunday. He further alleged that the child had drowned in the pool and the guards kept his body in a room but did not inform them about it. Later, the university administration sent the body to them in a rickshaw, he claimed.
