LAHORE: In a successful surgical procedure a tumour in the brain of an 11-year-old girl was removed using the latest technique at the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS) here on Saturday.

According to a press release, Faria Azhar, a resident of Narowal, was admitted to the institute with persisting headache.

After a tumour was detected in the patient’s brain, a team of doctors led by Prof Dr Khalid Mahmud conducted the procedure using the latest technology and successfully removed the tumour.

According to doctors the patient got relief from pain after the procedure.

Dr Mahmud expressed the hope that the patient would recover soon.

He said that while conducting the surgery the cosmetic aspect was also considered.
