KARAK: A soldier of Pakistan Navy drowned in Zebi Dam here on Thursday.

Police said that Umair Amjad, a diver in Pakistan Navy, had come home on leave. He went to Zebi Dam with his friends on picnic where he drowned after diving in the deep water.

The local divers fished out his body after hectic efforts of several hours. His body was handed over to his family. He was buried at the graveyard of Tablighi Markaz.

Meanwhile, a young man was killed when his pistol went off accidentally.

Police said that Asmatuallah, a resident of Warsakhel in Takht-i-Nusrati, was cleansing his pistol in his home when it went off accidentally and he sustained serious bullet injury.

He was immediately shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital in Takht-i-Nusrati where he succumbed to his injuries before getting any medical treatment. Later, he was buried at his ancestral graveyard.
