SHANGLA: Assistant Commissioner, Puran tehsil, Sardar Jawad on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the TMA offices and found them locked, and submitted a report to the deputy commissioner for onward submission to Malakand commissioner for action against the truant employees.

Sources in the deputy commissioner’s office told Dawn that following public complaints AC Jawad reached the TMA’s old and new offices, but found them locked.

They said the TMA Puran had been closed for last two months and people were complaining about lack of municipal services.

The sources said the deputy commissioner had earlier warned the staff of ensure their presence in offices and delivering municipal services, but to no avail.

They said there had also been public complaints that officials in Bisham TMA were not attending to their duties, adding the deputy commissioner had also forwarded the Bisham case to the Malakand commissioner.
