PM Imran has decided to hold entire PSL 2020 in Pakistan: Naeemul Haq

Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to his special assistant, has decided to bring Pakistan Super League to the country in its entirety next year.
According to Special Assistant Naeemul Haq: "Empty stadiums at PSL matches in UAE justify PM Imran Khan's decision to move the entire PSL to Pakistan next year."
Haq expressed confidence that the country will witness jam packed stadiums in all the big cities once the franchise is brought to Pakistan.
Javed Afridi, the chairman of the Peshawar Zalmi team, also tweeted in support of the decision.
When the series was launched in 2016, all the matches were held in either Dubai or Sharjah, since the UAE has long been the 'second home' for Pakistan cricket.
The following year the fixtures were again played in the UAE, with the exception of the final, which was held in Lahore.
Last year, the two eliminator matches were held in Lahore and the final took place in Karachi.
This time around, eight matches have been scheduled to be played in Pakistan: three in Lahore and five, including the final, in Karachi.

Totally agree. I totally understand that foreign players will be reluctant next year. BUT PSL is a Pakistani league and a full fledged PSL should have been organized in Pakistan this year.
Empty stands is ruining the image of PSL.

Wanting the PSL to be held in Pakistan, and actually holding it here, are two different things. Will the foreign players agree? Would be a dream come true if it happens.

Too much importance is given to League cricket which is not
considered as international cricket. Where is the news
Sri Lanka winning test cricket in South Africa and
New Zealand winning 2-0 over Bangladesh.

On working days attendance is thin while on weekends it is other way around. We appreciate PM's decision that 2020 be held in Pakistan.

Naeemul Haq, " Empty Stands " should NOT be the justification.
The justification, should be that " Pakistan has returned to it's Normal, Peacefull self ".
Therefore it is time that PSL " Should return to it's Original Home ".

The stands are empty and conducting the matches in Dubai is not viable financially. There is no option other than try to conduct it in Pakistan. Whether it is conducted in Dubai or Pakistan, I see end of PSL in next three years or so.

Firstly, lets give credit to Najim Sethi for starting PSL. Secondly, shouldn't this news be coming from chairman of PCB or PM himself instead of special assistant to PM. Finally, they might have a tough time getting international players to come to pakistan but if Imran puts in a effort and ensures tight security that might actually happen. Go PSL!!!!

I hope no u turn on that. We don’t care if foreign players don’t come we Pakistanis are enough for each other. New Pakistani talent will come forward if there is no corruption. Our population is large enough to support psl. Pakistan zinda baad. We are our own world.

Nothing to worry about IPL will still be successful as you have a population of over 1.3 billion people to fill the stands. Lets not forget Pakistan is #1 in T-20 per ICC ranking. Very good decision will save foreign exchange. Also all foreign cricketers will stop comming to pakistan it will promote local boys to show their talents and will be very entertaining stadiums will be jam packed without foreign players.

Last time I went to the semi final game, the whole city looked like it was put on curfew and we had to clear so many hurdles to get to our seats and it took so much time. I don’t think that’s sustainable for so many games and every year. Our fundamental security situation needs to be improved to improve the image of the country and not have to put thousands of police and soldiers around the stadium in a big circle to make it safe. Thoughts?

one of the problem of PTI is its jumping ahead of time..why there is a need to start talking about 2020 now when the currently PSL is still underway?
when the time comes then make announcements. PTI and IK should learn in this regard the faster the better !
