SHANGLA: A teenage girl committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in Puran area here, sub-divisional police officer Zehrab Gul told Dawn on Sunday.
He said the victim was brought to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Puran, where she died.
The SDPO said the doctors had not found any marks of violence on her body, adding the girl was engaged to her cousin but she was not happy with her engagement.
Meanwhile, a mud house of a poor man was gutted in Kamach area of Martung on Sunday. According to locals, the fire erupted in the house of Salfareen Khan due to electric short-circuit.
The locals extinguished the fire.
The affected man demanded of the district administration to extend financial help to him so that he could rebuild the house.
