KARACHI: The people of Karachi experienced a hot and dry day as the temperature surged to 41 degree Celsius on Saturday.

Officials at the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that the new wave of harsh weather was likely to stay for two more days as the direction of wind had changed from “south-westerly to north-westerly”.

As a result of change in wind direction, the maximum temperature in Karachi on Saturday reached 41 degrees centigrade with humidity, or the amount of moisture in the air, ranging between 50-60 per cent.

“The wind direction and speed is likely to return [to] its normal pace and direction from Monday evening,” said an official. “We predict the same weather conditions to prevail on Sunday and Monday.”
