QUETTA: A tribal elder’s house, government dispensary and a school building were blown up in a remote-controlled explosion in the Kohlu area of Balochistan on Friday.
Levies officials said that attackers planted the explosive devices in the vicinity that went-off with a big bang, leaving the buildings damaged.
Law enforcement agencies and rescue workers rushed to the spot and cordoned-off the area. No casualty was reported and authorities have commenced investigation.
Attacks on political workers have become frequent in the province. Last week, a Balochistan National Party-Awami leader’s house was blown up by militants in Turbat while BNP-Mengal’s candidate narrowly escaped a firing attack in Makran Division.
Political parties have been calling upon the caretaker government for a peaceful environment in the run-up to elections.
