PESHAWAR: Engineer Dr Mohammad Amjad Khan has taken over charge of the office of chief executive officer of Peshawar Electric Supply Company and started discharging his responsibilities. He replaced Engineer Zakaullah Khan Gandapur. The former CEO was working on the seat since February 2018.

According to a statement issued here on Saturday, the new CEO vowed that he would utilise all his energies for the removal of public grievances and betterment of Pesco.

Dr Amjad belongs to Mardan and he graduated from the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. He joined Wapda in 1982 and served as SDO, XEN and superintending engineer in different parts of the country. He also earned his master’s in engineering and then PhD in Management from Peshawar.

He served in Pesco as superintending engineer and then he was promoted as chief engineer and general manager. Later, he was posted as Tesco chief executive a few months ago. Keeping in view his performance, he was posted as Pesco CEO.

On assumption of the office, he showed his determination to work with dedication and in the best interest of company to stabilise its weak financial position. He directed the Pesco staff to work for the betterment of the company and make efforts to reduce the line losses and enhance its recovery so that the company could be put on the track of success and prosperity.

Dr Amjad asked the company employees to facilitate the consumers. He claimed that the power company would provide best facilities to the consumers and ensure quick redressal of their grievances. He said that 100 per cent photo meter reading would be implemented to remove the complaints about overbilling and wrong reading.
