RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) have devised an alternate plan to facilitate motorists as the Faizabad intersection will remain closed to traffic to and from Islamabad on Monday due to the rehearsal for the Pakistan Day parade.

The traffic plan released by the CTP says traffic will not be allowed towards Faizabad as the intersection will be closed from morning to the end of the rehearsal.

Citizens have been advised to call the traffic police helpline in order to get guidance on alternate routes.

A press release issued by the CTP says extra traffic wardens will be deployed to facilitate motorists. Commuters on their way to Islamabad from Rawalpindi will be diverted to the Cricket Stadium towards 9th Avenue while traffic on the Islamabad Highway will be diverted to Service Road Khana, Sadiqabad via Rawal Road, Murree Road and will take 9th Avenue to get to Islamabad.

Traffic from Islamabad will be diverted on to 9th Avenue to reach Rawalpindi via the Cricket Stadium Road and Murree Road. Heavy traffic in Rawalpindi will not be allowed on Monday due to the rehearsal.

Tight security measures will also be put in place in the twin cities.
