PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas on Saturday received rain in the plan areas and snowfall in the hilly areas, bringing the mercury down.
“Intermittent rain continued in the previous 24 hours,” an official of the met office told Dawn.
He forecasted that rain would continue for another 24 hours.
The rain multiplied the troubles being faced by Peshawarites due to the ongoing construction work on the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit.
The construction company has dug the main roads of the provincial capital due to which mud could be seen on the roads, putting the motorists and pedestrians in trouble.
According to the provincial met office, Peshawar received 8mm rain, Parachinar 5mm, Risalpur 6mm, Saidu Sharif 2mm, Chirat 5mm and Malam Jabba 3mm.
The official said that snowfall had been received in the scattered hilly areas.
The upper parts of Hazara received rain and snowfall causing severe cold in the division.
The rain which was started in plains and snowfall in hilly and mountainous parts of the division in the wee hours continued the entire day.
The roads leading to Kaghan valley, Konsh valley and Siren valley were blocked because of snow and landslides. The electricity and phone system in Kaghan valley was also affected.
