Education in Sindh

Published February 22, 2018

EDUCATION in Sindh is in dire straits. The most burning issue is the reopening and running of closed schools. Many of these closed schools have a sad history as they were mostly established for political reasons.

These institutions were started by diverting teachers and students from nearby schools to them. However, with the passage of time, a shortage of qualified teachers began owing to the long ban on recruitment of staff. As a result students returned to the schools from where they were transferred. This is also one reason why the phenomenon of ghost schools arose.

The education authorities should take measures to improve the government managed schools.
