LAHORE: Abubakr Mahmood scored off a penalty corner with just two minutes left on the clock as Pakistan salvaged a 2-2 draw with Japan after an exciting encounter in the three-nation hockey tournament in Oman late on Thursday night.
Pakistan, who won their opener 3-0 against the hosts, took a 10th-minute lead at Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex through Shajeeh Saeed.
However Japan levelled six minutes from time through Shota Yamada’s penalty corner conversion and they grabbed the lead three minutes later thanks to Koshi Yamasaki only for Abubakr to save the day for Pakistan.
