LAHORE: Pakistan’s left arm fast bowler Muhammad Irfan has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court for the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

Filed through his counsel Kabir Hussain, the bowler states in the petition that he wants to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah but the Interior Ministry has placed him on the ECL owing to allegations of spot fixing.

The counsel pleads that the petitioner has no links to the allegations and an inquiry initiated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also exonerated him of the charges.

He submits that the petitioner (bowler) wants to perform Umrah but he is unable to travel abroad for being placed on the ECL.
