LAHORE: Lahore Gymkhana Challengers won the first Challenge Golf team match defeating Royal Palm Friends Team by 34 points to 30 at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

This championship, featuring 32 players, is the first of its kind.

At the start of the competition the Friends of Golf team, with home advantage were being considered favourites,but the Challengers overcame the threat they posed with their experience.

For the Challengers team the performers were Salman Jehangir, Dr. Dildar, Sheryar Anwar, Rizwan Rae­es, Dr. Zafar Nasrullah, Asad Shah, Amir Bhatti,Imran Mairaj, Farhan Bhatti, Asad Ali and Reza Said. For the losing club, the notable performers were Col. Jameel, Ahm­ed Tarrar, Faisal Sayid, Saeed-ul-Haseeb, Amir Kabir and Ali Naeem, Ch. Abbas and Dr Tashbeeb, Irfan Raja, Tanveer Karamat, Ham­mad Baig and Max Babri.
