According to the weekly statement of position of all scheduled banks for the week ended July 28, deposits and other accounts of all scheduled banks stood at Rs11,701.701bn after a 0.51pc decrease over the preceding week’s figure of Rs11,761.500bn.

Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs10,304.705bn, the current week’s figure was higher by 13.55pc.

Deposits and other accounts of all commercial banks stood at Rs11,629.451bn against preceding week’s deposits of Rs11,690.320bn, showing a fall of 0.52pc.

Deposits and other accounts of specialised banks stood at Rs72.250bn, higher by 1.50pc against previous week’s figure of Rs71.180bn.

Total assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs16,229.502bn, higher by 0.05pc over preceding week’s figure of Rs16,221.306bn.

Current week’s figure is higher by15.85pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs14,008.262bn.

Total assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs15,981.456bn, higher by 0.05pc over previous week’s figure of Rs15,972.423bn, while total assets of specialised banks at Rs248.046bn, were lower 0.33pc over the previous week’s Rs248.884bn.

Investments of all scheduled banks fell by 0.46pc

Gross advances of all scheduled banks stood at Rs6,027.582bn, higher by 0.0006pc over the preceding week’s figure of 6,027.542bn.

Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs5,116.122bn, current week’s figure is higher by 17.81pc.

Advances by all commercial banks decreased to Rs5,856.230bn from previous week’s Rs5,856.317bn indicating a fall of 0.001pc, whereas advances of specialised banks stood at Rs171.352bn against previous week’s 171.225bn.

Borrowings by all scheduled banks increased in the week under review. It rose by 2.42pc to Rs2,429.346bn against previous week’s Rs2,371.844bn.

Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs1,691.019bn, current week’s figure is higher by 43.66pc.

Borrowings by commercial banks in the week at Rs2,346.645bn were higher by 2.59pc against previous week’s Rs2,287.372bn. Borrowings by specialised banks stood at Rs82.701bn against the previous week’s Rs84.472bn.

Investments of all scheduled banks stood at Rs7,988.807bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs8,026.285bn, showing a fall of 0.46pc.

Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs7,067.603bn, current week’s figure is higher by 13.03pc.

Investments by all commercial banks stood at Rs7,934.763bn, smaller by 0.53pc against preceding week’s figure of Rs7,977.135bn, whereas investment by all specialised banks stood at Rs54.044bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs49.149bn.

Cash and balances with treasury banks of all scheduled banks increased over the week and stood at Rs996.366bn against previous week’s Rs967.102bn, showing a rise of 3.02pc.

Current week’s figure increased by 10.76pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs899.518bn.

Cash and balances of all commercial banks stood at Rs992.519bn, larger by 3.01pc over previous week’s Rs963.495bn.

Cash and balances of all specialised banks were higher by 6.65pc at Rs3.847bn against the preceding week’s Rs3.607bn.
