LAHORE: Barbaric and cowardly killings of innocent people by terrorists in Quetta and Parachinar are a crime against mankind and cowardly attempts to demoralise 200m peace-loving people of Pakistan ahead of Eidul Fitr.

The working class of Pakistan urged the government to take measures for safety of the people of Balochistan and Parachinar against terrorism as they had been repeatedly becoming victims of terrorism. The federal and provincial governments and all the political parties should unite to defeat anti-Pakistan forces and evil of terrorism.

This was stated by the speakers during a meeting held under the aegis of All Pakistan Workers Confederation at Bakhtiar Labour Hall on Saturday. The meeting was attended by a large number of trade unionists and workers, belonging to public and private sectors.

The meeting was addressed by Rubina Jameel, Yousaf Baloch, Ch Akbar Ali Khan, Osama Tariq, Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar, Niaz Khan and others. Speaking at the occasion, trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed declared that the working class would express their sympathy and solidarity with families of victims of terrorism on Eidul Fitr. He urged the government to allow one-month bonus to the workers on Eid and get labour laws implemented.

The meeting decided to hold a workers conference after Eidul Fitr to continue the struggle of the working class to establish a society based on justice, fraternity, equity and democracy. It condemned the barbaric killings of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian forces.
