QUETTA: The fast-moving car that ran over a traffic warden in Quetta on Tuesday belongs to Balochistan Assembly member Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, it emerged on Friday.

The traffic warden, identified as Sub Inspector Haji Attaullah Dashti, suffered serious injuries in the accident and died in the Sandeman Civil Hospital later.

Probably on political pressure, police registered the case of accident against unidentified people.

But after the CCTV footage of the accident went viral on social medical and was repeatedly shown by TV channels, Mr Achakzai appeared on some TV channels and provided some justifications.

Mr Achakzai who belongs to the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party is also the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
