PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday said only 20 per cent new development schemes would be included in the next Annual Development Programme (ADP) while 80 per cent of the ongoing projects would be completed in 2017-18.

Presiding over a meeting here to review the mid-term progress on ADP 2016-17, he ordered provision of complete funds to all the departments for the development schemes. He asked the departments to utilise these funds on schemes of their own priority.

The chief minister said the government would suggest development schemes for next ADP and the concerned departments would only review such schemes.

Mr Khattak ordered bidding on the agreed amount for hiring consultants for new schemes.

He said the amount to be spent on ongoing development schemes should be finalised by March 31, and that the unutilised funds should be returned by the first week of April.

He directed the P&D department to hold meetings with all other departments with a view to attracting foreign investors, especially the Chinese, to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He also ordered completion of work on the parking plaza in Civil Secretariat besides early completion of judicial complexes in Swat, Nowshera and Haripur.

He also directed computerisation of land record and asked the minerals department to take measures to stop illegal mining.

He ordered shifting of the bus terminal from the Peshawar city to Chamkani area, and building a CPEC tower on the vacated land.
