RAWALPINDI: Though educational institutions will remain closed on March 1 as part of security measures for the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit, the Secondary School Certificate examination will start on same day as per schedule.

Rawalpindi Intermediate and Secondary Education Board (RISEB) spokesman Mohammad Arsalan told Dawn that it was not possible for the board to reschedule the paper because all the Punjab boards had issued uniform timetables for the examination.

The spokesman said the board had made all arrangements for the examination.

“The holiday is announced for city areas but the exam will be held in all the four districts of Rawalpindi Division. The schedule had been issued,” he said.

He said papers of Arabic, Woodworks, Military Science and Health and Physical Education were scheduled to be held on March 1.

“As less number of the students have been enrolled in these exams, they will not create problem for the examiners and students,” he said.
