LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has invited applications from contractors or engineering firms registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for the construction of elevated expressway along with bus stations and allied facilities from Zafar Ali Road and Main Boulevard of Gulberg to Ring Road and motorway.
The length of the Rs25bn project is 10.7km which will be built over the Cantt drain. It also includes constructions of bus stations and approach and exit ramps at selected locations along the route.
The applications as per request for quotation (RFQ) documents will be received till 2pm on March 16 and would be opened at 2:30pm (same day and date) in the presence of the bidders or their representatives.
Meanwhile, the Town Planning Wing of the LDA demolished 10 illegal constructions and sealed another one in various localities of the city during a drive against violation of building regulations.
The demolished illegal properties included six shops on the Canal Road (near Bahria Town), a commercial structure near Bhoptian Chowk, four illegal shops on the Abdus Sattar Edhi Road near Punjab University Scheme Phase-1 and illegal part of a factory near EME Society while illegal construction of the first floor of a buildings was sealed.
