LAHORE: Two panels led by Mian Misbahur Rehman and Kamaran Lashari as well as 15 independent candidates are in the run for the Gymkhana management committee elections for 2017-19 session. The polling will be held on March 7.

Final list of the candidates was displayed by the management committee secretary on the instructions of the Election Commission, headed by retired Justice Tanvir Ahmad Khan. As many as 14 applicants withdrew their nomination papers.

Misbahur Rehman panel comprises Mian Misbahur Rehman, Mian Pervaiz Bhandara, Agha Ali Imam, Pervaiz Bashir Agha, Sarmad Nadeem, Karamatullah Chaudhry, Zahid Nabi Malik, Shafqat Rana, Tariq Hamid, Aamir Iftikhar, Javed Habib Oberoi and Khwaja Suhail Iftikhar.

The Lashari panel comprises Kamran Lashari, Shaukat Javed, retired DIG Samiur Rahman, Dr Jawad Sajid Khan, Dr Ali Razaque, Mian Javed Zahur, Khwaja Imran Zubair, Ahsan Saeed Mian, Prof Dr Atif Kazmi, Samira Maroof Khan, Khalid Rafiq and Moeen Sarwar (Booji).

Independent candidates are Rahim Yaqoob Malik, retired Justice Sajjad Ahmad Sipra, Muhammad Sharif Chaudhry, Qamar Khan (Bobby), retired Col Hamayun Rashid, Kazim Ali Mehkary, retired Lt. Col. Muhammad Azam Khan, Aamir Waheed Chaudhry, Taha Mahmood, Tariq Saeed Khan, Wajid Aziz Khan, Mian Samiuddin, retired Maj Javed Nasrullah, retired Sqn Ldr Ihsan Qadir and Mian Waqaruddin (Vicky).
