Six people of the same family, including four children were killed as a Lahore bound train hit a car in the Gojra of Toba Tek Singh district on Sunday.
The ill-fated vehicle was crushed by the oncoming train as the vehicle’s driver failed to clear the unmanned railway crossing in time.
The train, Shalimar Express, was heading to Lahore from Karachi. The occupants of the vehicle were on their way to Sarghoda to visit relatives.
The occupants of the car were killed on the spot. Rescue workers and local residents shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital Gojra.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique took notice of the incident and directed the relevant authorities to submit a report on the accident within 48 hours, said Pakistan Railways in a statement. He also expressed his grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives.
The statement read that the accident took place at an unmanned crossing at 11am.

Mr. Railway Minister how many more accidents & how many more lives you want before you resign and let some one to do a better job. I am not a good supporter of your party but when you became railway minister I for one was quite confident that you will try and resurrect the already dead railway (courtesy your predecessor) but my notion proved wrong. Every week we see some railway mishap, what is really happening in your ministry.

No excuse. There was a time when no train could have crossed a level crossing without passing the token to the station master for foolproof movements

For God sake Mr. Railway Minister please retire. How many more lives due to your incompetence. You will have to stand one day and be accountable for all these lost lives. There is still time,repent and you may be forgiven.

Saad Rafiq is supposed to be taking care of of Railways but he is instead spending his time cover up Nawaz Sharif's corruption. We are witnessing train accidents every week. The Railway Minister is busy having a road show full of obscenities every day.

What was the stupid driver doing in middle of railway? Last year I went to Pakistan we hired a local driver I had to slap him for reckless driving and I didn't pay him a penny. He almost killed me and my wife.

The guy whose name is Saad Rafique is very hardworker,Since 2011,he was reminded hundred times to Run more trains on Kundian route,Which are reduced from 12 to just 2.But he is more busy in Political point scoring,This Guy Hold records of Accidents in Consecutive months,he is expert in extravagent,Meaningless commentry,and Corruption and Serves a BEST EXAMPLE TO SAVE CHAIR!!!!

Railway officials & their bosses are paid to look after the system. Blaming others for their negligence cannot be an excuse. Time to place 'control gates' at all railway crossings in the country. Time for officials to 'earn' their salary by doing their job. More work, less speeches please.

Utter sense of irresponsibility to loss of life! How many reports have been written before for such accidents? People's taxes must be spent to put gates at each railway crossing to discourage the risk taking drivers from crossing the tracks in front of an upcoming train. The death of a risk taking driver might not be mournful, but of his innocent passengers should. Use technology to prevent lives. Trains kill but the gates save lives.

Why could the car driver not have shown some patience? It's no use blaming the minister for the rashness of the driver putting the lives of both himself and his passengers at risk! Thou our religion teaches us to be patient, but most people in Pakistan are always in a rush(except for arriving on time at weddings).
