Gift pack topper

Published January 21, 2017

We often panic when it’s time to present someone with a gift on their birthday or anniversary, because we want the present to look more appealing than all the others. Therefore, we paste a small wishing card, ribbons, stickers or flowers on it.

Today’s craft is a gift pack topper which you can easily make, and of course, with things readily available at your home.

Things you need:

  1. Crepe paper of any colour (you can use a normal tissue paper as well)

  2. A stapler

  3. Scissors

Directions:

  1. The flower we are making is the size of your palm and for this you need 12-inch wide and 12-inch length crepe paper (you can vary sizes according to the size of the flower you want to make). Cut the paper and fold it into half, this will be 6-inch wide now, pic 2; seperate and fold into half pic 3.

  2. Fold it into half again. And then fold it into half for the third and fourth time, as in pic 4 and 5.

  3. Hold the halves of crepe paper and then turn to its right, making a triangular. See pic 6.

  4. Make a semi-circle with the marker or pencil. Pic 7.

  5. Leaving half an inch from the folded corner of the paper (so that the petals remain intact to the centre of the flower) cut carefully, Pic 8.

  6. You have four petal structure now as in pic 9. Separate each layer of paper from each other then arrange each layer by rotating petals as in pic 10.

  7. When you are done with all the layers, hold the flower carefully from its centre from the back and press it upwards, making a cone-like shape, as in pic 11.

  8. Staple the corner, making sure all the petals remain connected, as in pic 12.

  9. Fluff each petal by folding and curving for a natural look. Pic 13.

  10. Your flower is ready, paste it on the gift box, as in pic 15, 16.

Note: You can add leaves as I have done or strings or glitter glue on the edges of the petals.
