UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has told the United Nations Security Council that the shifting of any state’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem would manifestly violate its resolutions.

Recently, US President-elect Donald Trump has signalled his willingness to move the US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

Speaking in the open debate on the Middle East, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi said on Tuesday: “Let us not forget that the basic narrative of the region’s extremists is that Muslim people can secure justice only through resort to force and violence. It will be difficult to defeat this narrative and extremist ideologies unless we ensure justice to the Palestinian people.”
