New JRR Tolkien book coming in 2017

The new title by Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien is set to be published this year. Beren and Luthien, the story of the love between a mortal man and an immortal elf, will be released by HarperCollins in May 2017, one hundred years after it was first written.

The story was previously available as part of The History of Middle-earth, a 12-volume series edited by Christopher Tolkien.

Since it was first written in 1917, Tolkien re-wrote the story in several forms. One version of this story is told to the hobbits by Aragorn the ranger in the first Lord of the Rings novel, The Fellowship of the Ring, while another version appears in the first chapter of Tolkien’s The Silmarillion.

The new book, edited by Christopher Tolkien, will open with earliest version of the tale.

What’s in Pixar’s upcoming musical Coco?

Pixar’s next original offering comes in the shape of Coco. To celebrate this countdown, the studio has given in depth rundown of what we can expect.

Coco will revolve around the secret musical ambitions of 12-year-old Miguel Rivera (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez), who lives in a loud and lively Mexican village.

Miguel has to suppress his love of music because his family is the only household in their village that despises music, because they believe that they’ve been cursed by it. Instead, they’re shoemakers, and are very proud of it.

With a lot of twists and turns, Miguel enters the beautiful underworld known as the Land Of The Dead where he searches to find the truth regarding his family’s curse. It is all the more exciting how he struggles to return to the Land of the living.
