CHARSADDA: ANP provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has claimed that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has failed to bring any new project for the province during his recent visit to China.

He said this while talking to media persons after his speech to party office-bearers, leaders and workers at a gathering held here on Tuesday in connection with the preparations for observing the death anniversaries of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and Abdul Wali Khan scheduled to be held on January 22 in Charsadda.

The provincial government, he declared, had failed to deliver, adding the province was facing financial and administrative crises because the government was being run from Banigala, the residence of PTI chief Imran Khan.

Mr Hoti said the party would organise its show of strength on the occasion of the death anniversary of the ANP leaders. He called upon the people of Charsadda to make the occasion a success.

Mr Hoti said thousands of party workers from other districts of the country would participate in the anniversary. He said public meetings, rallies and seminars would be held in connection with the anniversary in other districts and tribal areas from Jan 22 to 30.

He claimed that before general elections in 2018 the party would hold public meetings in tribal areas and the settled districts of KP which would be addressed by party leader Asfandyar Wali Khan.

He claimed that Charsadda was the stronghold of ANP.

About reforms in Fata, Mr Hoti said that there should be no delay in merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as tribal people had shown ‘willingness’ to merge Fata with the province.

If the government holds census and NFC award is announced on the basis of correct figures, merger of Fata with province could make KP the second largest province, he said, adding it could ensure greater say in policy-making, more representation in National Assembly and increased share in resources.

The ANP leader said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had not fulfilled his promises regarding China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

ANP provincial joint secretary Aimal Wali Khan, district president Barrister Arshad Abdullah, former deputy speaker Khushdil Khan Advocate, Syed Aqil Shah, Sardar Hussain Babak, Ayub Ashari, members of party’s provincial council, district presidents, general secretaries, members of women wing and a large number of party workers were present on the occasion.
