SHIRAZ Asif... confident about Pakistan’s success in KL.

KARACHI: Pakistan’s junior throwball team captain Shiraz Asif said on Monday that his team will do their level best to win the Asian Junior Throwball Cham­pionship which commences in Kualal Lumpur on Tuesday (today).

“I am grateful to PTF for asking me to lead the side in such an important event and me and my players will do their best to win laurels for the country,” said Shiraz before leaving for Kuala Lumpur.

He praised the team’s coaches for training the players well ahead of the tournament. “We thank our coaches Jafar Ali, Rasheeda Gul, Adnan Khan for training and preparing us well for the event.”

He added that his team is fully prepared to face the challenge and will be taking on tough sides during the tournament.

“We will go all out to win all matches and really looking ahead to the contest against India,” said Shiraz.

“The tournament will help our team get important international exposure which would help us to lift our game to international standards.”
