KARACHI: Pakistan Super League Chairman Najam Sethi on Saturday predicted that India will play against Pakistan at the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy in England despite the BCCI’s threats not to do so.
In an exclusive talk with Dawn News, Sethi said that PCB has made it clear to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that in case India does not play against Pakistan in the 2017 mega event “we will demand full points of the game.”
“As much as 20% of the ICC event’s revenue will be generated through Pakistan-India game and ICC too realises the importance of this match,” said Sethi.
“The Indian Government may not allow BCCI to play against Pakistan in the event. But since India lost 6 points recently for not playing the bilateral series against us which was part of ICC Womens Championship, the BCCI cannot afford such a thing in an important tournament like the Champions Trophy,” explained Sethi.
Sethi also disclosed that most of the foreign players are refusing to come Pakistan for the PSL final in Lahore, but the PCB is trying its level best to convince them and will provide highest level security to them.” .
“But in case the final is not possible in Lahore then it will be held in Dubai like last year.”
Sethi added that the PCB earn 2.5m dollars from inaugural edition of PSL and now they eyeing 3m dollars profit.

why Pakistan is so desperate to play with India when India didn't want to. On one side Pakistan ban Bollywood, import from India and another side just for revenue Pakistan ready to put its soldier respect who are guarding the border on stake.

Doesn't understand why the PCB is so keen to play with India,being Pakistani we are not interested too to play with India. ICC should look into it if India doesn't want to play with Pakistan what is the impact on their FTP calendar, ratings and such take necessary stern disciplinary action against India and compensating Pakistan for not playing on international venues as per ICC scheduled matches.

India always said that it would play against Pakistan in any sports in a multinational tournament. But India will not invite Pakistan and won't go to Pakistan for bilateral matches.
Mr Sethi knows India has no objection to plating against Pakistan in England. But he's just saying as if he is forcing India to play.

Nearly 80 per cent of the 20 per cent ICC event's revenue will come from Indian telecast of the match and not from Pakistan! From the current India -England series he should know where Indian team stands viz-a- viz Pakistan. By the way why this man is shifting his stance against India so frequently. Let him say Pakistan will never play against India in a bilateral one-day or test series and will meet only in international matches. We are tired of his and PCB Chief's rhetoric.

I am an Indian and I too find BCCI s positions very churlish, a sports person will play professional sports, win or loss on the field has nothing to do with the politics of the two countries,
I personally feel thus is the perfect time for Kohli's men to square off with Misbah's men in whites on the ground, sadly we may never get to watch that treat

All true lovers of cricket including myself ; on both sides of border would love to see India-Pakistan cricket matches for the sake of enjoying it as a game . However we also do not want the matches to be seen as some kind of a battle given the current relations and hatred not just between the two governments or media but also the people on both sides. One has to acknowledge that conditions have deteriorated to an extent that we cannot enjoy them as games until the situation improves. Mr Sethi seems to be talking only from financial point of view and really speaking it is only multilateral series or world cup tournaments where both can play at least for now. Peace be to Pakistan and India. Amen.

Most of the foreign players are refusing to come Pakistan for the PSL final in Lahore, my suggestion is that we ban any foreign player who is not ready to play here. We should be able to develop local talent and still shine. Refusing to play in Lahore is disrespect to us.
