PARACHINAR/MINGORA: One militant was killed during an action by the personnel of Frontier Corps in Lower Kurram Agency on Thursday when suspected terrorists tried to infiltrate into Pakistani territory from the Afghan side.

According to an FC statement, a patrol party of Frontier Corps detected the movement of terrorists and reacted in time. It said that in the ensuing exchange of fire one terrorist was killed and his body had been taken into custody. However, it said, the other terrorists fled after seeing the security personnel.

The statement said that weapons and ammunition, including one SMG along with five magazines and 145 rounds, one SMG bandolier and two hand grenades were also recovered from the area.

Sources said that the terrorists wanted to carry out terrorist activities in Hangu and Thall areas, which was foiled through timely action by the security personnel.

Meanwhile, the Swat police claimed to have arrested two alleged terrorists from different locations on Thursday.

According to the CTD police, they in a raid arrested an alleged terrorist and member of TTP Swat, Attaullah, a resident of Sambat village in Matta tehsil.

The police claimed to have recovered anti-government pamphlets from him.

He was wanted to the law-enforcement agencies in anti-state activities during the insurgency period in Swat.

In another such action, Rahimabad police nabbed an alleged terrorist of TTP Swat identified as Amir Hussain, a resident of Bilal Colony, Amankot. The police said he was involved in terrorist activities in 2008.
