KARACHI: For the past three weeks Sindh Governor retired Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui continues to be under treatment in a private hospital as relevant officials are not sure when he will be allowed by doctors to leave and assume the charge of his office, it is learnt on Sunday.

Mr Siddiqui had taken oath as the 30th governor of Sindh on Nov 10 replacing his longest-serving predecessor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan.

He could not go to the Quaid’s mausoleum after being sworn in because of health reasons and was finally shifted to a private hospital for multiple health issues.

Quoting doctors, officials said the governor’s condition was ‘satisfactory’.

However, they were not sure when doctors would allow him to leave and assume the office.

Officials said the governor was had a breathing problem because of chest infection. They said doctors continued to advise him for rest.

Three weeks ago, when the governor was shifted to hospital, he was admitted to the intensive care unit for a couple of days before being shifted to a room.

The 79-year-old governor, however, as officials said, was being kept informed about the events about which he was issuing necessary directives accordingly.

Some recent media reports suggested that the governor’s condition was not improving, however, officials at Governor House said those reports were not true.
