Ms Durrani is the first woman to take the charge of the acting governor of Balochistan. She is also the first woman speaker of the provincial assembly.

After assuming the charge, she met various delegations and provincial ministers at the Governor House.

Balochistan Education Minister Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal and Revenue Minister Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, provincial lawmakers Tahir Mehmood, Masooma Hayat and Husan Bano Rakhshani, Finance Secretary retired Capt Akbar Hussain Durrani and former mayor of Quetta Abdul Raheem Kakar were among those who called on her.

Talking to them, the acting governor said people would have to play their role for the promotion of education. She stressed the need for making the local government institutions completely functional.
