LITTERING has become a bad habit for all Pakistanis. Two things are needed to bring this unacceptable practice to an end. First, trash cans should be placed on the streets every few kilometres. Second, the police should fine those who throw trash on the roads.
Parents and teachers should set a good example for children. A shopping bag should be kept in every vehicle to put litter and empty wrappers and thereafter dropped in a waste bin. Teachers should arrange trips for students and take them to polluted natural sites and explain how inappropriate this is.
Sanitary rules that you stringently implement at home shouldn’t be shrugged off when you’re on the road. As a Pakistani it’s your job to ensure that your country is tidy and unpolluted.
